World champion boxer Cherneka Johnson had official ‘admiring the bod’ in weigh-in ʙικιɴι

Cherneka Johnson caught the eyes of boxing fans and even officials before her recent IBF super bantamweight тιтle defence – thanks to her eye-catching weigh-in attire

World champion boxer Cherneka Johnson caught the eye of a boxing official during a recent weigh-in – before defending her IBF super bantamweight тιтle in style.

Nicknamed Sugar Neekz, the New Zealand-born Australia representative has a professional record of 15 wins and one defeat – claiming her world тιтle in April of last year.

Having hit the scales for a bout against Susie Ramadan in a light blue ʙικιɴι, Johnson recently posted a throwback snap to the pre-fight weigh-in with eagle-eyed fans spotting something in the background.

Johnson had posted the caption: “Just admiring weigh in day bod because I ant looking like that this week.”

With a fan writing in a comments: “Mate in the background looked he was admiring the bod as well.” A second said: “I’ll tell you who is looking, that geezer behind you.”

Johnson won the bout by unanimous decision but didn’t come out unscathed, having a huge gash on the head which left blood running into her left eye.

The 28-year-old had been due to return to the ring to defend her belt against Ellie Scotney in May on the undercard of Katie Taylor and Chantelle Cameron undisputed junior welterweight championship fight.

However, Scotney took to social media this week to claim that she has been removed from the card for reasons beyond her control.

Johnson has since posted her own statement, that reads: “The politics in boxing is actual BS. Why should Myself or Ellie loose the opportunity to fight a great fight on such an incredible fight card for women’s boxing?

“The work that goes into starting a camp mentally and physically and the preparations that have already gone in and have that taken away because of behind the scenes drama that has nothing to do with the actual fighters themselves.

“As the Champion me and my team agreed and went back and forth with negotiations to defend my тιтle in Dublin on the Katie Taylor and Chantel Cameron undercard on neutral territory, there was nothing in the contract stating that due to behind the scenes drama that this defence will be moved to a smaller show in Ellie’s hometown in the UK.

“This is unfair and as the Champion I deserve better. I did not hesitate to give Ellie the opportunity to challenge for the тιтle on this big card, I shouldn’t be punished for this!”
